Houston Texans First Round Draft Pick – Whitney Mercilus

Instead of the wide receiver prediction we were all betting on, the Houston Texans went looking for another pass rusher and more depth at the linebacker position.  Whitney Mercilus, DE out of Illinois, was the Texans 26th overall pick in the NFL draft Thursday night.

He is very similar to Mario Williams when it comes to speed and intensity.  Whitney is a 6’3, 261lb early- entry junior who ironically only started for one season in college, but led the entire nation in sacks and forced fumbles.  He is the type of player that could be a great replacement on the Texans defense with his knowledge of the game and athleticism.

Many believe that Mercilus would be a Top-10 pick in next year’s draft, if he had stayed in school.  Whitney says he’s ready to make an immediate impact on the team’s performance, regardless of his light experience.

“I answer that criticism as I just became more of a student of the game,” Mercilus said. “Definitely, when I got my opportunity, I made the most of it. Instead of being behind a starter, who was ahead of me in my last years, 2009 and 2010, once I got my opportunity, I was able to make the most of it and just shine through.”

Congratulations Houston on an outstanding draft so far.  Lets keep up the smart picks!!

Houston Metro F.O.P & N-Motion Auto Transport “Shop with a Cop”

We know that the holidays are too far away to plan for, or for that matter, even think about, but its never too early to be in the giving spirit  and help the ones that truly are in need.  The Houston Metro Fraternal Order of Police is in the process of getting ready for their annual “Shop with a Cop” program.  This is a wonderful way for children to find out what the police department is really here for, our protection and to help the community.  Some local policemen will take the children out shopping for all of the necessary school supplies and clothing, to kick off the school year right.  N-Motion Auto Transport has teamed up with the Houston Metro F.O.P. to help increase the chances of these children’s bright futures.  We took it upon ourselves to really make a difference in the world and where better to start than the “future of our country”, the children.  Although, everyday we do help people with the stressful world of car shipping and vehicle transport, we strive to help others out as much as we can.

You too can help our kids of the community by going to to find out more information.  Remember, no donation is too small and if you can’t afford to help in monetary terms, volunteers are always welcome.

Chevrolet will end Avalanche production after the 2013 model year. The Avalanche design offers more utility than a traditional pickup with a midgate that extends the bed into the cab

The automaker is commemorating the Avalanche with the 2013 Black Diamond model. Black Diamond Avalanches will feature body-colored bed surrounds, a distinctive badge on the sail panel, additional features on LS and LT models, and lower prices across the lineup.

“More than 580,000 Avalanches have been sold since its introduction in 2001, and Avalanche has won major awards and recognitions throughout its run,” said Mark Clawson, Avalanche marketing manager. “So it is only fitting that Avalanche retires on a high note.”
