Car Shipping Prices

Car shipping prices can vary with different criteria such as size of the vehicle, pickup and delivery location, type of service required (open auto transport vs. enclosed auto transport), special requirements, etc.  N-Motion Auto Transport does a great job of obtaining all information and creating a specialized car transport program to fit the wants and needs of every customer.  Need a monster truck moved from Baltimore, MD to Los Angeles, CA?  Easy!  N-Motion Auto Transport would get the specs of the truck and then match the type of trailer necessary to perfectly cater to the dimensions of the vehicle.

Each vehicle is properly secured with wheel straps, not chains.  Wheel straps do not put any tension on the body of the vehicle and reduce any chance of damage during the car hauling process.  This is an added perk of using an auto shipping company such as N-Motion Auto Transport and does not inflate the car shipping prices whatsoever.

Fast, Reliable Car Transport Solutions

Whether you need to move off to college or even want to travel down south for the winter, N-Motion Auto Transport can cater to your every need.  We transport vehicles for a wide variety of clientele, including race teams, professional athletes, college students, snowbirds, and dealerships all over the nation.  Our car shipping prices do not change with different clients because we do not believe in price gouging.  The team at N-Motion Auto Transport gives consumers the easiest and most affordable options available in the automobile transport market.

Texas Vehicle Shipping

Texas car transport truck drivers love to stop at Travel Centers of America locations all along the long Texas highways for either a re-fuel or even just to grab a bite to eat.  Travel Centers of America brought in a new idea not too long ago called Willie’s Place in Carl’s Corner, Texas.  An auction brought Willie’s Place into town for roughly about $6.4 million and what was viewed to be a great investment, considering all of its amenities and location’s history.  Vehicle transport industry experts and many drivers in the business of controlling car shipping prices on the long roads of Texas feel that this is exactly what the historical site needed.

Willie’s Place is named after the legendary country singer, Willie Nelson.  The location includes not only a truck stop, but also an entertainment facility that’s located on a 15 acre plot of land off Interstate 35.  The location offers 12 different fueling stations for auto shipping drivers, a couple of restaurants, convenience store, saloon, theater with live music, and a gift shop.  The friendly staff will help you and provide you a service unlike any other.  They want you to get everything you need on your way out so that you can get on that long road ahead.

Vehicle Transport Improved with Fuel Treatment

Auto shipping firms all over the nation are always looking for new ways to increase truck performance and sometimes even the smallest things help.  A heavy duty diesel fuel treatment by Prolong Super Lubricants can improve their fleet operations and aids efficiency on the long road ahead.  Prolong Super Lubricants offers its Super Duty Diesel Fuel Treatment for heavy duty auto transport trucks operating on US roads.

This product was designed to significantly improve fuel mileage and performance that drivers get from their trucks while in the car shipping process.  While being a very cost-effective and reliable product, Prolong Super Lubricants Super Duty Diesel Fuel Treatment has been formulated with high-quality detergents that remove gunk, sludge and any deposits that might have built up from injectors.  The results are great and the product offers auto transport driver’s better fuel economy during transport and does away with most of that black smoke seen coming from the exhaust.  It also protects fuel systems from any type of corrosion and premature wearing of pumps and injectors, according to Prolong Super Lubricants professionals.

Prolong Super Lubricants Super Duty Diesel Fuel Treatment, as a bonus, meets the diesel fuel additive specifications for injectors cleanliness of Cummins L-10 and diesel fuel additive specs for corrosion protection of Cummins N-14. This is great news for companies trying to control car shipping prices during the long miles to be traveled on the roads.

Is it better to purchase a vehicle locally or out of state?

There are many pros and cons in purchasing a vehicle both in state and out of state.  Some markets are a little more favorable than others depending on the year, make, model, and vehicle type.  There is as much as $3,000.00 to $6,000.00 difference in pricing on several vehicles, new and used, from one sector of the region to another.  Dealerships make it easy for out of state buyers to purchase online and they provide the necessary documentation for auto transport so that you won’t have to pay the state tax where the vehicle was acquired.  Once the vehicle is registered within your state, that’s when you would just take care of the DMV fees and sales taxes within your own state.

Hypothetically, if you purchased an out of state vehicle for $30,000.00 (vs. the $33,000.00 local vehicle) and purchased car shipping services for $1000.00, you can already see the $2,000.00 savings.  Not only are you getting an out of state savings, your options are almost endless.   You now can choose the exact color and specific options that you want without that high dollar price tag.  Majority of the time, if you have specifics on what you want, the dealership will probably have to bring the vehicle from another location anyways and you will still have to pay the high dollar for it rather than being diligent and finding the vehicle yourself.

To rid you of any worries about car transport, call N-Motion Auto Transport today and let use ease your mind.  Get hassle free car shipping prices and leave the job to the pros.

Cash for Clunkers Program

There has been a high demand for the purchase of older vehicles by dealerships and the government programs.   Not only have auto dealers felt the boost in revenue from the program, but dependable auto shippers have also reported that they have seen an increase in business as well. In 2009, car dealerships didn’t tend to keep much inventory on the lots, while sitting around the 48% mark.  Now, manufacturers are cranking up production with the aim at keeping a 60 day supply on hand.  Car carriers are getting consistent orders from the mass producing manufacturers.   2009 was a rough year for auto carriers because many of them were on the brink of shutting their doors due to lack of business.  Now, things have really turned around and there aren’t enough carriers on the road to facilitate the demand for auto transport

A More in Depth Understanding of Transit Time

So that everyone is on the same page of what “transit time” really is, let’s take a closer look.  By understanding this, it can reduce confusion by both parties involved in the car shipping process.  We know that you need or want you vehicle as quickly as possible and we strive to give you that service, but there are elements that can increase the time that it takes to get your car to you.  Just think, when you drive across the country, there are many factors that might hold you up like weather, traffic, food and sleep.  Well, by sharing the truck with other customers’ vehicles, it does dramatically reduce the cost of the vehicle transport for each customer.  So with that said, the driver has to stop at each location on the way to you so that he can deliver the vehicles.

Timing is one of the most important things to the driver, so he will do his best to be as punctual as possible.  The time of car transportation can largely be effected by the auto transport company that you hired to ship your vehicle.  If you went with that low ball quote it’s because they wanted to lock you in with all of the promises and then either take forever to deliver the vehicle or end up calling you back and telling you that the price is going to be higher.  Each spot on the truck represents a dollar value that must be met in order to pay for the fuel and labor expense.  This is one factor that is the most important to remember when shipping cars.  If you are looking for the cheapest price to ship your car from coast to coast, you are going to have a longer transit time and/or the cheapest service.

International Car Theft Export Ring Busted

There has been a large number of exporting going on in the United States as of lately and much has to do with the inflated vehicle prices around the world.  It is cheaper to purchase a vehicle in the US and pay all of the import/export fees rather than purchase the vehicle in your own country.  Well, it seems some think that it’s even CHEAPER to just steal the vehicles and throw them on the boat to ship to the buyers, rather than take the proper steps through customs.  Not so fast, thieves!!  Law enforcement agencies, both federal and state, have announced the breakup of one of the larger car theft export rings.  Several people have been charged with the theft of a multitude of vehicles in the NY and NJ area, and exporting them to Africa from the area’s seaports.
20 federal, state and local agencies announced the arrests of 11 of the 19 persons who are charged with the theft of the several high value automobiles.  The buyers of these vehicles were willing to pay a much higher ticket than what market value suggests, but bad news hits the shores of Africa instead of the boat loads of vehicles.  There are many ill effects of these types of operations, including but not limited to crime, carjackings and robberies.  When something is done illegally, our safety and quality of life diminish along the way.

Our economy, in many ways, is also negatively impacted as well through situations like these.  For example, not only are our citizens deprived of their personal property, but theft patterns in specific areas will result in higher insurance premiums for residents within that area.  Considering that majority of the vehicles are taken by gang members, gangs are thriving in this market.  By cracking down on their sources of income, we in return gain a favorable advantage.

Getting Bombard with Auto Transport Quotes?

Have you ever submitted an inquiry to get an auto quote from a company that says they will give you multiple quotes within minutes?  Well, the truth behind that business is that you get BOMBARDED with calls and emails that aren't necessarily accurate quotes.  They want to lock you in so that you feel like you are getting the best deal out there and then they turn around and tell you it is going to cost more money. Now you can see why it is better to go directly to a dedicated website to get a quote, such as www.NMotionAutoTransport.com.  We here at N-Motion Auto Transport treat each and every customer with the utmost respect.  We want you to feel right at home with our professional service and assure you that you are more than just another customer to us. Houston Texans First Round Draft Pick – Whitney Mercilus

Instead of the wide receiver prediction we were all betting on, the Houston Texans went looking for another pass rusher and more depth at the linebacker position.  Whitney Mercilus, DE out of Illinois, was the Texans 26th overall pick in the NFL draft Thursday night.

He is very similar to Mario Williams when it comes to speed and intensity.  Whitney is a 6’3, 261lb early- entry junior who ironically only started for one season in college, but led the entire nation in sacks and forced fumbles.  He is the type of player that could be a great replacement on the Texans defense with his knowledge of the game and athleticism.

Many believe that Mercilus would be a Top-10 pick in next year’s draft, if he had stayed in school.  Whitney says he’s ready to make an immediate impact on the team’s performance, regardless of his light experience.

“I answer that criticism as I just became more of a student of the game,” Mercilus said. “Definitely, when I got my opportunity, I made the most of it. Instead of being behind a starter, who was ahead of me in my last years, 2009 and 2010, once I got my opportunity, I was able to make the most of it and just shine through.”

Congratulations Houston on an outstanding draft so far.  Lets keep up the smart picks!!

Where's the plan to repair N.Y.'s roads and bridges?

There could be major accidents in New York because the state is spending less money to fix its highways and bridges. This possibility might be seen because of the analysis that was seen in the records of the state Department of Transportation. A plan to fix these bridges needs to be decided by Governor Andrew Cuomo and state lawmakers. Car haulers would then be able to maneuver easily through the crowded cities. This would make auto shipping a more efficient means of open vehicle transportation than it already is. A five-year DOT plan that would have spent $26 billion for repairs was rejected by the 2009 Democratic- controlled state Legislature. About 80 percent of that money has been spent, and the state needs $250 billion in order to maintain its transportation and water systems. About $80 billion of that amount is unfunded. Sen. Chuck Schumer thinks that a National Infrastructure Bank to help states fund road and bridge projects should be created. However, the problem is that state and federal governments are financially stretched but if local governments were required to help with maintenance cost it could fix the problem. This is a good time for Cuomo and the state Legislature to come up with a solution to make the bridges and roads of New York stronger.

Highway funding in Maine is more worrisome than its pothole ridden roads

The roads in Maine are so bad that there is now a contest to see which road is the worst. The winners based on photos and stories on collapsed bridges, failed culverts and gaping potholes this is set up by the Maine Better Transportation Association. Vehicle transporters are trying to reroute themselves as to not get into the mess. This might cause a slight delay in pickup or delivery times of clients interested in car shipping. Not only are upset drivers and highway maintenance crews complaining about the roads but so are legislators. Lawmakers and highway maintenance advocates are saying that the state is going to end up facing extreme decrease in transportation funding. Also, there is a decrease in revenue base from fuel tax which is being battered as cars are becoming progressively more proficient and need less fuel. The MBTA President Randy Mace said that improvements to Maine’s highways and bridges will be $230 million less then its current two year finances. The Road Information Program, a transportation organization based in Washington said that at recent funding levels, numerous desired highway projects will not go on, pavement conditions on main roads will get worse and more miles of Maine will be limited to lighter cars. Since there is a loss in fuel tax the money is going to have to be made up somehow which is going to be difficult because highways are getting less money from federal government and state general funds.

SC: Economist tells state lawmakers its good time to raise gas tax

According to an economist at Clemson University, they believe that the unpredictable gas prices could create a chance to raise the state’s fuel tax. The possibility of increasing the gas tax, during this time of “opportunities” facing lawmakers for tax reform was brought up by Holly Ulbrich, an economist and senior scholar with Clemson’s Strom Thurmond Institute. She believes that the gas tax is among a small group of taxes that is not indexed to inflation. Also, she has argued that even if it were coming from tax, people wouldn’t notice. Rep. Tommy Stringer, a Greenville Republican chairing the committee, disagrees and thinks that they would notice. He also believes that you can always tell where we are in the economy based on gas prices; if the gas prices rise you can than tell we are in a recession and by raising taxes on transportation at this point wouldn’t be good. Auto carriers would then have to raise vehicle shipping rates in order to compensate them for the increase in fuel prices. Robert St. Onge, the transportation secretary, thinks that agency leaders are going to have to choose between cutting expenses for a poorly maintained road system or find additional revenue.

I-85 toll project to add to traffic jams in regular lanes

On I-85 in Gwinnett and DeKalb counties, a new toll system will be opening next week making the drive for solo drivers a quick one. However, for other drivers next to the toll system they won’t have as pleasant of a ride because there will be an increase in traffic due to the project. A study has shown that the regular lanes will have an extra ninety cars per lane but the study also said that most drivers won’t even notice a difference. This will cause a delay in auto transport and the shipment of vehicles within the state. The State Road and Tollway Authority expect the cost of the toll to be about $4.8 million but after the first year it is expected to bring in $3.9 million in toll revenue. The toll is going to range from 10 cents to 90 cents per mile depending on congestion. However, drivers going round trip can expect to pay over twenty- five dollars. Many people, including Tim Lomax, believe that even though this might create a slow down to the main lane drivers, it will only cause a delay that is couple minutes longer but it won’t create a noticeable delay. N-Motion Auto Transport is aware of this situation and will continue to monitor current news in order to keep car shipping as efficient and timely as possible.

3,000 state workers reopened N.J. roadways

On Sunday four state agencies got together and cleaned up New Jersey’s roadways so it could be reopened. Work crews from the State Department of Transportation are having to work all day to clean up the obstacles in the road that were caused from high winds and rain. DOT, NJTRANSIT, the Turnpike Authority and South Jersey Transportation Authority have sent about 3,000 workers to clean up the road ways and form detours from floodwaters. Because the storm damage was so bad people are being asked to stay off the roadways so work crews will be able to clean up faster. Hundreds of floods conditions occurred because of the state average rainfall of seven inches. This was mainly along the flood prone rivers such as the Raritan, Rockaway, Saddle and Passaic. Over 300 roadway complaints of debris and flooding have been reported to DOT and the people are being asked to visit www.511nj.org. www.511nj.org is a website designed to give up to date information on the roadways and it also provides a map of areas that are still flooded or have debris. There is still a major safety issue because the water levels in the rivers have not gone down yet. The southbound lanes on the Garden State Parkway are opened with some detours between exits 98 and 91 and the eastbound lanes on the Atlantic City Expressway will be reopened by Sunday afternoon allowing car haulers to do there job.

Slight Improvement in FTR Conditions Index

In June, -3.1 became the current reading for the FTR Associates’ Shippers Condition Index. The SCI summed up the market influences that affect freight and auto shippers. In order to have a positive shipping atmosphere, the reading must be above zero and anything under zero is insufficient. Even though this index is below zero, its condition is improving because in March, the index was at -11.4. This “low” slowed down the shippers in economic and freight growth in late spring and early summer causing a slowing in the rise of rates; causing an ease in the strain in capacity. The downside to the situation is that the SCI has decreased each month when it comes to there rate of improvement. Sadly, the FTR is predicting the index to fall again which will end up impacting the shippers in a bad way. Larry Gross, the senior consultant for FTR, thinks it may be counterintuitive by saying that rate increases are going to improve. The trucking companies have had solid rate increases, even while the GDP growth has been down, shows that freight demand and capacity are good. The FTR is expecting an increase and they are still going to be watching for a decrease in the upcoming months.

California Cleaning up their Trucks

Anti-Pollution regulations in California have been looking for a way to clean its air. The soot in the diesel exhaust has been one of the focal points in recent years. The tail pipes in many trucks, off-road equipment, and buses have been throttled with refined filters that strip out particulates. Trucks made before 2007 must have retrofits and the devices needed for periodic servicing. Newer trucks made in 2007 or later are standard and have diesel particulate filters. Ironman Parts & Service is one of the independent companies that are doing this type of work. In the last six years, they have done 10,000 retrofits. The owner, Craig Phillips, specializes in this line of work and has added this ongoing engine rebuilding and maintenance operations to his company. Cleaire, Donaldson, and Johnson-Matthey for on-road trucks, plus another line for off-road equipment are all products that are handled by Ironman. Waste vehicles and publicly owned vehicles were the first items focused on by the California Air Resources Board. Diesel-powered commercial vehicles over 26,000 pounds GVWR must comply within the next three years. Vehicles between the model-years of ’96 and ’06 are where the majority of the work is being done. Trucks that are privately owned are exempt but commercial trucks made 94’ and earlier have been banned by the state. This benefits the auto shipping industry because carriers will now be more efficient and reliable. Vehicle transport customers, in return, get a reduced price and a better time frame for which their vehicle will get delivered. A large part of Phillip’s business has been based on the cleanup. An installation per truck takes 8-20 hours and can cost anywhere from $7,500 to $15,000 depending on the engine and type of DPF. A healthy engine is needed in order to have a successful installation, but in many cases they are not because they have been uncared for.

The Obama Admin Announces Medium & Heavy Truck Fuel Economy Standards

Obamas program is said to make trucks, buses, and other large vehicles more fuel-efficient and save these companies roughly $50 billion in gas over the programs life span. Many people’s reactions to the program’s proposal were/are positive ones. From 2014 to 2018, oil consumption will be a projected reduction of 530 million barrels. This will immediately impact the reduction of greenhouse gases as well, by about 270 million metric tons. Obama was given the idea by the hard working engine manufactures and drivers of these large trucks. The question was brought up: “If we are focusing so hard to improve the efficiency of everyday driver vehicles, why shouldn’t the larger trucks that actually move around the US everyday have a fuel-efficiency program.” These trucks are a major part of the ozone depletion and need just as many regulations, if not more, than passenger vehicles. This program, in no way, is negative because it adds an additional cost of about $6,000 to the purchase of these vehicles while in return saves about $73,000 a year in fuel costs. This will also make it even more efficient for vehicle shipping and car haulers . ATA CEO Bill Graves proposed, in addition to this program, that vehicles be limited to a speed of 65 mph and that trucks be governed at that speed.

Japan's Fuel Rates Increase while Profit Declines

Two of Japans largest shipping lines have lowered their annual profit estimates due to falling rates and rising fuel costs. Fuel costs have climbed along with higher crude prices, while the rates for leasing out commodity ships have fallen 34 percent in a year. Container shipping is going to end up being the biggest struggle and dry- bulk shipping does not look like it is going to get any better either. Japan’s other shipping line has also lowered its operating estimates. These three shipping lines have greatly suffered in the demand for car shipping because of the earthquake that occurred in March. In April, vehicle transports dropped 68 percent, which is the biggest drop since 1973. Even though this drop hurt them in the first quarter, it will end up being their highest profit source for the rest of the year. This year, the three shipping lines have fallen more than 20 percent. As the Asia-U.S. and Asia- Europe routes expand and demands decrease, it has caused container shipping rates to fall. However, the global fleet of dry- bulk carriers will end up rising thirteen percent this year with an overtake of traffic by four percent.
